the lesson i learnt from the novel 'walkin the dog'
is the value of freedom
freedom to me is the ability to travel wherever you wish on earth [within capability]
freedom to me is the ability to choose your life, your future, your luck, and your path in general
freedom to me is the ability to speak your mind, protest for fairness,
and make the truth known to those who have a right to it
freedom is the ability to feel fresh air and sunshine on your face, and to look up at the beautiful blue sky.
the ability to walk your dog :)
anybody who has been through imprisonment is aware of these things, and how precious they are.
it seems you only know what you have or had, after you have lost it. some are lucky enough to regain the lost.
you know what i think is a little unfair, i mean i honestly don't have much to complain about, but here goes,
but i think it is a little unfair, when you help somebody see the truth
and they continue to treat you with disgust
mistrust
unequal judgement
i ask of you
to use your mind
to actually place yourself in my shoes
don't just go, oh yeah this trick again,
no actually use your brain to imagine yourself walking around,
being me.
and everything that comes with that. imagine having gone through what i have gone through,
its nothing compared to some, but it is something.
so i ask you, would you judge yourself, walking around in these 'britta' shoes
as you judge me?
picture yourself at my age, picture yourself being accused of what i am accused,
picture yourself being hit with the mistrust, the disgust, the hatred to some degree,
picture how you would deal with it,
but most important
picture how you would feel
inside your heart.
i want to make it clear that parents can pass down life lessons to their children,
they can pass down advice, they can aim to protect their child.
but there is a fine line between concern and interference.
how do you know that i am exactly the same as the person who dished out your life lesson?
how do you dare to throw this karma back in my face?
when all i have done for you is to help.
all i have to say is
true judgement waits for you
in the greatest court of all
be sure that you are satisfied with yourself
before then
